The Brunei Darussalam Geospatial Challenge 2025 (BDGC 2025) is a competition aimed at youths of Brunei Darussalam from the Institutes of Higher Learning to showcase the use of geospatial technology and information to support the nation in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Two winning teams will represent Brunei Darussalam to compete against students from the ASEAN region at the ASEAN Geospatial Challenge (AGC) 2026.

Objectives

  • Increase geospatial awareness and literacy
  • Promote the use of geospatial technology in relevance to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
  • Identify two teams to represent Brunei Darussalam at the ASEAN Geospatial Challenge (AGC) 2026.​

Target Participants

  • Full time students from the Institute of Higher Learning (Tertiary Institution or its equivalent) in Brunei Darussalam.
  • Each team must consist a minimum of TWO, to a maximum of FOUR participants.
  • The participants must remain enrolled as full-time students until the end of February 2026.
     

Format of the BDGC 2025

The submitted project should evidently showcase the use of geospatial technology and information to support Brunei Darussalam in achieving their Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Teams are required to:

  • submit ONE Project Write Up;
  • submit ONE Poster Submission; and
  • present their project to a panel of judges.

Registration closes - 19 July 2025

Participants' Briefing - 30 July 2025

Project Deadline & submission - 16 August 2025

Project Presentation - 17-18 September 2025

National Prize Presentation - 19 November 2025
